Forever Yours — presented by Gateway Worship

By the glorious grace of Jesus Christ, we who were estranged and desperate have been made the people of God.  We are forever His according to His great mercy and eternal love!  Hope this morning, you find comfort and encouragement in knowing that God has called you His own!

Pastor, I feel as though the Lord put me here to communicate and command the Good News of Christ’s Coming, but often I feel extremely inadequate. Lack of knowledge, good discussion and apologetics… Feeling like He put me here without adequate skills to testify better in Christ. Political questions, for instance, I cannot explain better. I don’t exactly know what He wants with me, but I’m trying to be open-minded about it. Is it good enough? I’m not a great evangelist nor am I a great preacher. I’m rather sinful, always repenting meager person. Yet the Lord pulls me back at home to impact others hearts through my faith… Hmm. Walking in Christ is difficult.

Here is an excerpt from my email reply to my friend Kyoko:

“Regarding the place God is giving you to speak of the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ, you do not need to be a preacher, evangelist, apologist or anything God did not call you to be. You are called to be His witness…something you can be simply by allowing Him to show His love and truth to others as you seek opportunities to tell your own story and point people to His Son and His Word.

So take heart, and do not be discouraged by all that you do not know. Instead, be grateful and glad for the little that you do know and be ready to share that with anyone God brings your way and puts on your heart. Walking in Christ is indeed difficult–in fact, apart from daily reliance on Him in everything it is impossible! He said Himself, ‘Apart from Me you can do nothing!’

What He wants from you is simple…be His, be available, be faithful. He will show you the rest day by day as you rest in Him, be consistent in prayer and the Word and commit yourself to walk by the Spirit moment by moment. And when you fail, there is grace and mercy in abundance to come back immediately to Him and be restored.”
